Description

Enjoy Italian Sausage Stuffed Banana Peppers, a savory dish perfect as an appetizer or main course.


Ingredients

  • 6 large banana peppers
  • 1 pound Italian sausage, removed from casing
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut banana peppers lengthwise, remove seeds and membranes.
  3. In a skillet, brown Italian sausage over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add onion and garlic to the skillet, cook until softened.
  5. Stir in cooked rice, Parmesan cheese, parsley, and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Stuff banana peppers with sausage mixture.
  7. Place stuffed peppers in a baking dish and top with marinara sauce.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until peppers are tender and filling is heated through.
  9. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For spicier peppers, leave some seeds in.
  • You can substitute ground beef or turkey for Italian sausage.
  • Add a layer of mozzarella cheese on top before baking for extra cheesy flavor.
